Here's How Twitterati Reacted To Tanmay Bhat Stepping Down From AIB

Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba, co-founders of AIB, stepped down from AIB. Twitterati have trolled them left and right

Inspired from the west, the #MeToo campaign in India has sure gained heat with several women gathering the courage to point out sexual perpetrators. Of recent, AIB co-founders Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba were accused of misconduct by several on social media. The two immediately stepped down from the organisation. AIB issued a formal statement regarding the same through their verified social media account. 

Recently, comedian Utsav was accused of sending sexually explicit messages to several women. The comedian was working as a freelancer at comedy group, AIB. Post the allegations coming to light, AIB issued a statement that they condemn such an act and will be de-listing all the videos in which Utsav featured, from their page. Post that, they released a second statement to reveal how much they knew about Utsav's nature.

Later, Tanmay Bhat took to his personal account and admitted that he knew about Utsav earlier but failed to take action and apologised for the same. However, soon, Twitterati started digging old tweets by Tanmay Bhat, dated 2012, which were sexist in nature. People called out at Tanmay Bhat for behaving like a hypocrite. Another screenshot of a woman accusing Tanmay Bhat of misconduct also went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Tanmay Bhat has not responded to the allegations personally. Gursimran Khamba, on the other hand, has been accused by a woman, who claims that he forced on her without consent. Khamba issued a statement regarding the same, in which he accepted to bad behaviour, but denied any violation of consent.
