We don’t know how many bookies and those who made predictions over the name and gender of the royal baby made losses or earned windfalls, but the mystery is finally over. And the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first child, a son, is Archie Harrison Windsor-Mountbatten. For a lot of us, the first name that comes to our minds when told of Archie would be the Archie comics that many have grown up reading. The 80-year-old comic brand posted a quirky post in reference to their two-day-old namesake by tweeting like a baby.
A few hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public appearance with their newborn, Archie Comics tweeted, ‘i’m baby.’ Interestingly, the handle tried to make it look a child would tweet by not paying attention to the grammar and not writing it as ‘I’m a baby.’
Even ‘Riverdale’, the TV series based on Archie Comic, also jumped on the bandwagon and shared a GIF of KJ Apa, the most popular Archie before the royal baby, to write how he was proud to be an Archie, alongside crown and baby emojis. They also informed the timings of the latest episode.
The family announced on Monday that the royal couple welcomed their first child and that both the baby and the mother were doing fine.
On Wednesday, the couple made their first public appearance, presenting the baby to the Queen while announcing that the little one has been named as Archie Harrison Windsor-Mountbatten.
