Instagram’s latest test feature in countries like Australia and Japan to remove likes from posts to give users relief from the ‘pressure’ to get responses from followers upset popular Influencer Mikaela Testa. The Australian’s posts expressing her sadness about it became a talking point.
In a Facebook message, Testa had shared the link of a story that mentioned about Instagram testing the feature of removing the count of likes on their posts to remove the pressure to get likes, and rather enjoy the process of posting and equalise the platform for everyone.
In the post that has now been deleted, Testa had written, “Regardless of what you may think Instagram is a REAL job and those in the industry have worked hard to get where they’re at... It’s not, it’s real damage out here.”
“It’s actually a sad day for those who have Instagram as a job.”
She added: “I’ve put my blood, sweat and tears into this for it to be ripped away, it’s not just me suffering too, it’s every brand and business I know."
“Instagram isn’t even doing this for mental health they’re just doing it so they can control all engagement so more businesses run their adverts through Instagram essentially giving them more $, they don’t care about your feelings.”
Later, she also posted another video on her Instagram stories to express her sadness. She also said that she was taking a break from the platform. However, she denied that her anger got anything to do with the Instagram update, but that she was upset about the negative comments on her previous post.

However, Testa was also back on the platform a day later.
