Yash starrer 'KGF' has become nothing short of a cinematic revolution ever since its release a couple of weeks back. The Kannada film that was dubbed in over five languages went on to create a storm at the box office on a global scale. It has already become the highest grossing Kannada film and now if reports are anything to go by, then the movie has created history.
According to trade reports, 'KGF' has now crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in terms of worldwide collections. The timing is just perfect for it also marks the birthday of the film's lead man Yash. Even as his fans celebrate his birthday with gusto, the film has achieved this historic feat.
With this important milestone, 'KGF' has become the only Kannada film to cross the Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. It is the only film from Sandalwood, whose Kannada version itself has hit century whereas the double century includes collections of all versions of the film from all across the globe.
Part of the success can be attributed to KGF's collections overseas, particularly the United States. The Prashant Neel directorial has collected Rs 5.31 crore from the US alone which is almost unheard of for a Kannada film. Coming to the Hindi version, the business has been booming at the ticket window all across the country as it minted more than Rs 37 crore so far and is expected to cross the 40 crore mark soon.
