'KGF' has become a nationwide phenomenon ever since its release. It has already breezed past the Rs 150 crore mark and is well on its way to hit 200, a figure unheard of by Kannada films. The star of the movie Yash has also become a super popular name and people are eager to know more about 'Rocky bhai'. In an interview, the actor revealed his humble beginnings as well as how 'Baahubali' taught the 'KGF' team to think big.

Speaking about his beginnings, the actor said in an interview that he actually ran away from home to Bengaluru with dreams of becoming an actor. Since his parents were from the non-filmy background, he had to do all the work by himself. Starting off with theatre, Yash revealed how he would travel with a group and earn extra money backstage by serving other actors. Eventually, he landed up in TV, which confessed was more for the money as movies were always his first love. Finally, 'KGF' happened and the rest, as they say, is history.

When asked why 'KGF' was released in such a wide scale, he replied that it was to show the world that Kannada film industry is not inferior to any other industry. He also revealed that it was SS Rajamouli's two-part magnum opus 'Baahubali' that inspired them to release 'KGF' in over five languages. Initially, the makers were planning for only Kannada audiences with English subtitles. However, seeing how well the Prabhas starrer did, especially in Hindi, they decided to dub it in multiple languages.

Yash also had an exciting update on 'KGF: Chapter 2' as he said that the script is ready and that it would be even bigger than the first one. However, he clarified that he doesn't take film's success for granted and that the team would work even harder for the sequel. Meanwhile, the Prashant Neel directorial is jumping from strength to strength as it has grossed more than Rs 30 crore with the Hindi version itself, making it one of the few dubbed films to do so.
