Move over Anushka Sharma’s ‘crying Mamta’ meme, the internet meme machine has found a new favourite in Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’. The teaser of the film which was released on Thursday, September 13, has instantly become the butt of jokes on social media. The meme brigade has been at their creative best, taking a dig at Akshay Kumar’s blink-and-you-miss-it appearance in the ‘2.0’ teaser among others.

Meanwhile, the teaser of ‘2.0’ which was unveiled on Thursday, September 13, has been garnering immense praise ever since it was released. The 1 and a half minute video has been trending on social media with the Hindi version and the Tamil version garnering over 11 million views and 9 million views respectively. In what is a double treat for fans, the sci-fi film also stars Akshay Kumar, who plays the antagonist. It is extravagant, action-packed, larger than life, and everything that one would expect from the teaser of a Rajinikanth film. Fans have been going gaga over the teaser in which Akshay’s Dr. Richard is seen battling it out with Rajinikanth’s character Chitti the Robot. With the overwhelming response, the teaser has been getting, one can imagine the Rajinikanth craze that will sweep the nation when the film hits screens.

On the occasion of his birthday, Akshay Kumar had posted a new poster from the film featuring his character and said, “Only 12 hours to go for the #2Point0Teaser out at 9 am IST tomorrow! @2Point0Movie @LycaProductions@DharmaMovies #2Point0.”

Earlier this week, the actor had also shared another poster in which he called his character a “dark superhero”. Akshay posted, “Here’s a special birthday treat for all my fans. Sharing with you my most powerful character and one which has probably stayed with me for the longest time. I am the dark superhero for those who don’t have a voice! HUMANS BEWARE!!! @2point0movie @lyca_productions@dharmamovies #2Point0.”
