Priya Prakash Varrier became an overnight sensation with her wink around this time last year after people fell in love with her on first sight. That’s unfortunately not the case with her debut movie ‘Oru Adaar Love’ that hit the screens on Valentine's Day. Unlike the unanimous admiration for the debutante when a short snippet went viral, the Omar Lulu directorial has been unanimously panned by critics and audiences alike. The makers in damage-control have now shot a fresh climax.
In a recent interview, Omar revealed that he’s reshot the climax in a day’s time and that the 10-minute sequence would replace the current ending. Apart from the tweak in climax, 10 minutes running time has also been shaved off the film. The new version will be screened in theatres from Wednesday afternoon, he added.
On the rationale behind the move, Omar said this was his third romantic comedy in a row after ‘Happy Wedding’ and ‘Chunks’, and he thought of taking a different approach this time. However, the filmmaker says that it was not what the audiences were expecting, and he was flooded with negative reviews for the climax. Thus, the director and the producer decided to go for a reshoot of the climax.
Omar also claimed a ‘campaign’ against the movie is underway on social media where people who haven’t even watched it are criticising it and calling it a flop. The filmmaker said the comments not just degraded the movie, but even affected the future of the yongsters, Priya, Roshan Abdul Rahoof and Noorin Sherif.
