Oru Adaar Love | 'Makers insisted to highlight Priya Prakash Varrier', director Omar Lulu unhappy about turn of events after actress' wink went viral

The humongous buzz that ‘Oru Adaar Love’ received courtesy Priya Prakash Varrier’s wink did work for the film to an extent as the movie, despite being heavily panned, performed decently at the box office. However, director Omar Lulu is not pleased with the way it shaped up as he had to change his initial plan regarding the movie as makers insisted they highlight the actress.

In a recent interview, Omar, who appeared along with one of his leads Noorin Shereef, said that when Priya’s song 'Maanikya Malaraaya Poovi' and the wink went viral, he discussed with the makers on making the film well. However, he claimed they asked him to take Priya as the lead instead.

The filmmaker claimed he wanted to make a film about a young couple who gets murdered but couldn’t do so after the producers’ suggestion. Omar revealed that he initially agreed to the idea, but there were creative differences when he changed the storyline, because of which the producers didn’t pay him a part of the agreed remuneration for dub rights. 

The director also said he’s not in touch with Priya any more and even broke down when shown a clip from the same show of his appearance with her. Omar also said Noorin is a better actress than Priya.

Previously, Noorin had also stated that she felt disappointed when her character got sidelined due to the change in the script following the hype of Priya’s wink. 

After the movie had opened to negative reviews, the director shot a new climax to replace the original one.
