It’s perhaps the first time that a wink played a significant role unintentionally in the promotions of a movie. Priya Prakash Varrier became a household name after a video from her ‘Oru Adaar Love’ went viral and came to be known as the ‘wink girl’ around the same time last year. However, her co-star from the film, Noorin Shereef was not pleased. The actress felt disappointed as her character got sidelined after her co-star became an overnight sensation.
In a recent interview, Noorin said that she was extremely happy when the director Omar Lulu selected her as the heroine of the movie. However, she claims that the makers changed the stoyline around Priya after her wink went viral, and Noorin said her character got a ‘bit sidelined.’ The debutante added that she felt ‘very disappointed’ with her character losing its importance as it was her first as a lead actress.
Moreover, a quote of Noorin in another interview also went viral, where she said she was keen to work with their co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof, but when asked about Priya, she replied, ‘No comments.’
Meanwhile, the magic that started with Priya's wink didn't help the movie on the whole as it was panned by critics and fans alike. The director has now replaced the climax of the movie and the reactions to it are yet to surface.
