Malayalam actress and viral sensation Priya Prakash Varrier just welcomed superstar Rajinikanth on Instagram after the Thalaiva made his debut on the photo-sharing site and social network Facebook.

Priya took to her Instagram story and posted a screenshot of Rajinikanth’s Instagram account and wrote, “Welcome thalaiva @rajinikanth”

Priya has turned a huge influencer on Instagram after she became internet’s favourite sensation ever since the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' from her debut film 'Oru Adaar Love' released. A short video clip from the track, where Priya is seen raising her eyebrows and winking at a boy (played by Roshan Abdul Rahoof), went viral online.

After the clip went viral, she garnered more than 606k followers on Instagram in a single day. She currently has 5.1 million followers on Instagram.

Priya’s ‘viral wink’, however, courted a massive controversy. The Supreme Court stayed all criminal proceedings against Priya Prakash Varrier and the film’s director Omar Lulu who were booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in the song.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth had announced his entry into politics in December 2017. Espousing a new line of ‘spiritual politics’, the 67- year-old actor had said his party would contest all 234 seats in the next Assembly polls, due in 2021.

Rajinikanth will next be seen in ‘Kaala’. The teaser of Rajinikanth’s upcoming flick was released last week, with the trilingual movie all set to hit the screens on April 27.

Actor Dhanush, also Rajinikanth’s son-in-law, has produced the movie under his banner Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd. Pa Ranjith is the director of the film, his second association with Rajinikanth after their 2016 gangster flick ’Kabali’.
