SS Rajamouli will be coming with his new film, three years after ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, and from everything that we know about ‘RRR’ till now, the wait seems set to be absolutely worth it. Here’s all about the film after the press conference held in Hyderabad on Thursday:

Story:

After ‘Baahubali’, Rajamouli again goes back in time, but through fiction. ‘RRR’ is a story of Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, two freedom fighters against the British in the 1920s.

Cast:

Only two names were confirmed in the cast for the past few months, Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Both have completed the first schedule of the movie and are working on the second one.

Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn have been signed for pivotal parts. The former plays the role of Sita and is paired opposite Ram Charan.

Rajamouli said Ajay will have a ‘powerful role’ and that he has an important part in the flashback episode.

British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, known for series like ‘War of the World’ and ‘Cold Feet’, will share screen space with Jr NTR.

Actor-director Samuthirakani, known for work in Tamil and Malayalam films for almost two decades, is the other member of the cast, and has shot with the two protagonists in the first schedule.

Budget:

When it’s Rajamouli, it’s big! The combined budgets of the two ‘Baahubali’ films are reported to be around Rs 350-400 crore and that’s the same, alone for ‘RRR’, producer DVV Danayya has confirmed.

Triple clash:

‘RRR’ will hit the theatres on July 30, 2020.

Before ‘RRR’, two other films have announced release dates around the same time. While Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ announced July 31, 2020 as the release date, Akshay Kumar-Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ is set to hit the theatres on Eid 2020, which will be at the same time.

Release:

RRR, like 'Baahubali', will be releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and other Indian languages simultaneously. It's not yet clear if they will shoot in any other language other than Telugu, and it'll most likely be dubbed in the other languages.
