Prabhas shot to fame across the country after the release of super hit film 'Baahubali: The Beginning' which hit screens in 2015 and is set in the kingdom of Mahishmati. The film follows the story of Shivudu played by Prabhas who grows up as part of a tribe and then discovers that he is a royal by birth and about his family's conflict-ridden history. As per reports, Prabhas did not take up any other film project for almost three years since he started work on 'Baahubali: The Beginning'. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions had distributed the Hindi version of the 'Baahubali' franchise and reports were recently rife that Prabhas has been roped in to play the lead in a multi starrer film to be helmed by Karan starring Ranveer Singh. However, Karan put these rumours to rest as he announced his film 'Takht' a war epic starring Ranveer Singh and the rest of the cast that includes Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

Meanwhile, 'Saaho' also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Evelyn Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Mandira Bedi and Chunky Pandey and is written and directed by Sujeeth. The film, which is simultaneously being shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi is slated for a 2019 release.
