Vijay starrer 'Sarkar' has been one of the biggest and most successful releases this week. While it has become a people's favorite, it looks like the film has drawn the ire of the Tamilnadu government. A lot of drama has been unfolding lately as AIADMK officials demanded that some scenes are removed from the film and have taken a really hardline stance towards the issue. Now, the makers of the film have found support in one of the most influential figures in Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth. The Superstar took to Twitter to condemn the acts of the current regime and argued that it is not fair to fight for cuts after the film has passed CBFC certification.
But even as Thailavar expresses his solidarity with the 'Sarkar' team, things have become really serious for filmmaker AR Murugadoss. Taking to Twitter, the ace director told everyone that there is police outside his house late night and that they have been banging at his door for a while. Fortunately, he added that since he wasn't home, the authorities left the place.
Since the news broke out that the filmmaker might actually face arrest, TFPC president and actor Vishal also expressed his concern at the state of affairs.
Meanwhile, the film fraternity has been standing united with the politically charged film. Earlier on Kamal Haasan had also extended his support to 'Sarkar' and had called the government tactics as sheer manipulation.
