Tamil Actress Allegedly Commits Suicide In Chennai, Alleges ‘torture’ At The Hands Of Live-in Partner

Yashika, known for her work in Tamil serials and the film ‘Mannar Vagaiyara’, allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday. Police is on the lookout for her live-in partner Aravind aka Mohan Babu for allegedly torturing her.

As per reports, Yashika was found dead at her rented apartment she was sharing with Aravind in GKM Colony in Chennai’s Peravallur. The two had moved into the house only four months ago after they met each other. Before that, the deceased used to live in a hostel in Vadapalani. However, the couple recently fought, after which Aravind, who works at a mobile service centre in Perambur in Chennai, left their house.      

Yashika reportedly sent a WhatsApp message to her mother about Aravind’s refusal to marry her and even alleged he ‘tortured’ her. She asked her mother to ensure that he was punished.  

Here’s what she allegedly wrote to her mother in the message, as claimed in reports, “For having ditched me without marrying and for having tortured me, you must get him punished severely after I commit suicide."

The actress hailed from Tiruppur and was 21 years old. Her real name was Mary Sheela Jebarani.  

According to reports, a police officer from K5 Peravallur police station confirmed the incident and added that they were on the lookout for Aravind. The official added that it’ll be possible for them to arrive at a conclusion regarding Yashika’s death only after they find him. The official revealed that the mortal remains were sent for post-mortem, and the reports were still awaited. 

Yashika had a small role in 'Mannar Vagaiyara'. The movie is a romantic comedy that had released in 2018. The film starred Vimal and Anandhi in lead actors. The movie was directed by Boopathy Pandian and produced by Vimal. 'Mannar Vagaiyara' also featured veteran actor Prabhu. Chandini Tamilarasan and Karthik Kumar were among the other members of the supporting cast.
