Pictures of a 12-year old boy from China carrying his friend to school on his shoulders have gone viral, with the Internet getting emotional over the love and dedication. He was called a hero and the picture went viral not only on Twitter but on the other social media platforms as well. Remarkably, as per Chinese media, the boy has been carrying his classmate on his back for the past six years. The classmate, Zhang Ze, suffers from a muscular disability that prevents him to move or walk on his own. Xu Bingyang, who is a mere twelve-years-old carries him to school, come what may. Additionally, apart from carrying him to school, he also helps him in fetching his lunch, carries him around inside the school to attend all his classes, and even helps him to go to the washroom.

Many other netizens have also hailed the boy as their hero and mascot for spreading the message of empathy to the disabled. A user said that in a world where disabled people face discriminated and are not treated as second class citizens by many, this boy proves to be an example.
