Veteran Telugu Actor Vizag Prasad Passes Away At 75, Condolences Pour In

Telugu actor Vizag Prasad was not well for the past few days and had been admitted to the hospital since then. He was declared dead at around 3 am after the cardiac arrest.

Veteran Telugu actor Vijay Prasad, popularly known as Vizag Prasad, has passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday. He was 75 at the time of his passing. According to reports, the veteran actor breathed his last at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. He was not well for the past few days and had been admitted to the hospital since then. He was declared dead at around 3 am after the cardiac arrest.

Prasad was a veteran in the true sense having worked for more than 30 years in the Telugu industry in over 175 films. He was born as Kollam Parvati Varaprasada Rao, but acquired the screen name Vizag Prasad for being born and brought in Vishakapatnam. Vizag Prasad is survived by his wife Vidyawati and their two children. The veteran actor had made his debut with 1985 film 'Babai Abbai' with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Anitha Reddy in lead roles.

His last notable appearance was in Ravi and  Meghna Lokesh-starrer 'Idhi Maa Prema Katha.' One of his most popular roles was as antagonist in 'Nuvvu Nenu' starring late Uday Kiran. Vizag Prasad also worked in Kamal Haasan in his only Tamil film 'Unnal Mudiyum Thambi.' He was also a known face on TV, courtesy his work in serials like 'Idhi Maa Prema Katha', 'Allari Bullodu', and 'Ranivari Bangla' and more.

Tributes started pouring in for the actor on Twitter as celebrities learned about the demise. One of the famous names, Sumanth, wrote  'RIP' and spoke about the pleasure of sharing screen space with him in 'Gowri'. The film, also starring Charmme Kaur, had released in  2004 and was a success at the box office.
