Vijay starrer 'Sarkar' is one of the most highly anticipated films in Tamil cinema at the moment. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali today, the film is releasing all across the country with a massive reception from the crowd that is evident from the pre-booking itself. However, it looks like the AR Murugadoss directorial might be in some fresh trouble. The notorious online film piracy site, Tamil Rockers has threatened to leak the full version of the film online within just hours of the movie's release.
Such a brazen display by the piracy group has sent the entire industry, in particular, the Tamil Film Producer's Council in a state of shock. The TFPC soon released a statement saying that this plot to harm the film should not succeed. The council urged the distributors and theater owners across the state to ensure that the film does not get leaked today and have advised to even put up security personnel inside the halls for good measure. It remains to be seen if the piracy group succeeds in its nefarious task or not.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the film has courted controversy. Just weeks ago, 'Sarkar' had landed in a plagiarism row when an assistant director Varun Rajendran accused the filmmaker of copying his story. The two eventually settled the matter out of court, but it had already given the film major footage. On the other hand, fans of Ilayathalapathy are super excited for the film, not just in Tamilnadu, but in Kerala as well. While one theater is going to run the movie on loop for 24 hours straight, some of his fans from God's own country have also unveiled a massive 175 feet cut out of the actor.
