A rapping prodigy, procuring his inspiration from Eminem and an invincibility from self, 14-year-old Sparsh Shah takes us through his flair and fervor, exclusively disclosing bits of his life and moments on his recent meet with Amitabh Bachchan to Republic World.
Born with a genetic disorder, Osteogenesis Imperfecta or brittle bone disease, Sparsh has been through 135 fractures, but his passion still intact. The very passion that landed him the Champion of Hope award, that celebrates rare disorders and people having them.
While speaking to Republic World, Sparsh said, "I have a genetic disorder, that make my bones really fragile. I have had 135 fractures. The Global Genes organization discovered me through my videos and invited me to the event. We were very hesitant to go, because a few weeks before the award I had the biggest surgery of my life, my Spinal Fusion. But eventually, we decided to go and I'm glad we did."
Sparsh rose to the public eye, after his video of rapping Eminem's 'I'm afraid,' started rushing on the internet. Speaking of his exposure to rap and fondness for Eminem he shared-"Ironically I avoided mainstream rap for the profanity and vulgarity of it. But I was slowly exposed to rap, in fact, the first song I did was 'Not Afraid' by Eminem."
Amalgamating his training as a classical singer and his affection for the rap-lord, Eminem, he said, "I listened to the original version of 'Not afraid', and the song struck my chords, it really did. And after I read that he wrote this song after his near-fatal over-dose and his fight with drug addiction. It really resonated with me. So I love Eminem for his vocabulary and love him for his story of coming from almost nowhere to being the greatest rappers of all times.
The journey that took him straight to the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati, besides Amitabh Bachchan, he recounts it as a dream accomplished.
He said, "Meeting Bachchan ji was one of the greatest feelings in the world. Being in front of such an amazing human. I never believed that I would ever share the stage with him like that, until I came to KBC."
Emphasising on this moment, that he shared, he said, "My dream as an artist was to meet him one day, because my dream as an artist is to perform in front of a billion people one day and all I can say now that a billion people would be watching the finale episode of KBC. So I get to tell my kids that I fulfilled my dream as an artist before I even became an adult. These opportunities are priceless in life."
