January 10 is a special day for Tamil cinema fans with two big films releasing on the same day. One is Rajinikanth's 'Petta' while the other is Ajith Kumar's 'Viswasam'. The latter has opened to pretty much positive reviews with fans, in particular, enjoying it to their fullest. Moreover, the culture of celebrity worship is not new in TamilNadu and Thala were doing just that when things went horribly wrong.
A massive cutout of actor Ajith collapsed when the fans tried to get on top and give it a paal abhishegam (milk bath) as people often do to deities. Unfortunately, six fans who had climbed the huge cutout were injured as the flimsy structure fell to the ground when they were in the middle of giving it a milk bath. A video has also surfaced of the same, where one can see a big clamour erupting as soon as the mishap happened.
This unfortunate event took place at a theatre called Srinivasa in Vizhupuram district of the state. More details are awaited on the condition of the fans. Also, he is not the only actor who receives a god-like treatment. Rajinikanth fans are particularly known for carrying out this tradition in each of his films, which eventually spread to other actors as well.
Meanwhile, there is also good news for fans of the actor as 'Viswasam' has opened to mostly positive reviews. Critics, as well as the general public, have approved of the film. One of the best takeaways from the movie's release is that Vijay, who are considered arch rivals of Ajith fans, are also supporting the film which is a really nice gesture on their part.
