  • In 1985, actor Chiranjeevi had imitated Michael Jackson's popular song 'Thriller' for his film 'Donga'

Telugu actor Chiranjeevi made his debut in the film industry in the year 1979. Back in the days, the actor had experimented with the kind of roles he did. He had appeared in several films as an antagonist in the 80s. The actor's real name is Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, and Chiranjeevi is the stage name he adopted.

Many might not be aware that, Chiranjeevi was known for his breakdancing skills and exhibited some killer moves in his early films. In the 1985 film, 'Donga', the actor had his Michael Jackson moment in the song 'Golimaar. The song was an imitation of Michael Jackson's hit song 'Thriller' that released in 1982. Chiranjeevi dons the red suit that was worn by Jackson in his song and even the zombie theme of the song was intact. Actor Chiranjeevi imitates some of the steps done by the 'King of Pop' and does a very good job at it.

What was interesting was that the song was adopted at a time when international music was not a big rage in the country and Indian pop culture had not taken shape. The concept of zombies was a western idea back then. Even before Saif Ali Khan's 'Go, Goa Gone' popularised the concept of 'zombies, Chiranjeevi had introduced the concept in regional cinema, through 'Golimaar'. In fact, the film 'Go Goa Gone' begins with the tune from this 'Chiranjeevi' song.

The actor turned 63 on August 22 and has 150 films to his credit. The actor is currently gearing up for his next film 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy', a period drama, where he plays the role of the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. The film is based on the 1857 freedom struggle of India against the British Raj. On August 22, 2017, on the actor's birthday, who is playing the lead in the film, the motion poster and title of the film was released.  The movie is being helmed by Surender Reddy and produced by Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja under the banner of Konidela Production Company.
