Anil Kapoor is one veteran actor who has ventured into a lot of different streams other than performing on screen. He is also a seasoned producer, much like his brother Boney Kapoor and has bankrolled films like 'Aisha', 'Veere Di Wedding', 'Fanney Khan' among many others. Now, he has ventured into the digital platform with a Netflix original show 'Selection Day' which he is producing. Now, at the premiere of the show which he attended with his family, he had a lot of interesting anecdotes to share.
Most importantly, he talked about production and said, "There's a saying that production is a thankless job, at the time when father used to do it. Then later I and my elder brother (Boney Kapoor) started producing films. But I think with Netflix, the show which we have made, I feel that it is not a thankless job, but is the best job."
He also spoke at length about the show and said that this time they have knocked it out of the park with this cricket-themed show. Revealing that it is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, he said that it's about the bond of siblings and a coming of age story, so it'll have a universal appeal. Anil also appreciated the concept of online streaming platforms and said with the right talent, concept and a bit of luck, one can make it on a global scale as it will be streamed in over 190 countries simultaneously.
Other than the veteran actor, his daughter Rhea Kapoor, nieces Khushi, Janhvi, Anshula and Shanaya and nephew Mohit Marwah also attended the premiere with him. Moreover, it is not the only association Anil has with Netflix. He also voiced Baloo the bear for the Andy Serkis directorial in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle's Hindi version.
