The year 2018 has been a stunning one for Dhanush without a shadow of a doubt. After impressing everyone as a gritty gangster in 'Vada Chennai', he had another treat in store for Christmas in the form of 'Maari 2'. The film just released on December 21 and has opened really well. Just as the success of the endeavour is taking off, the actor has yet another surprise in store for his fans.

On December 22, Dhanush took to Twitter to announce that his next film is 'Asuran', which will be directed by 'Vetrimaaran'. He also shared a first look or concept art from the film where he can be seen in a radically different avatar. Sporting a thick moustache, tousled hair and yellowing teeth, he can be seen in a black shirt and looks like someone you would encounter in your day to day life. He captioned his surprise as, "As #maari2’s success news is pouring in from everywhere, I’m delighted to announce my next with @VetriMaaran #Asuran .. will be produced by @theVcreations Thanu sir."

The netizens and fans of the actor are understandably ecstatic for they can't seem to get enough of their favourite star. While one gushed over how different his look in the film was, another declared it a blockbuster already. One more netizen was really excited to see the combination of Dhanush and Vetrimaaran again. Take a look at some of the reactions:

'Asuran' will mark the actor's fourth collaboration with the critically acclaimed filmmaker. The duo is most famously known for their second team-up 'Aadukalam', which bagged Dhanush National Award for Best Actor.
