1. BoJack Horseman (2013-Present) 

In the list of best-animated tv shows, BoJack Horseman is a regular fixture. The show first appeared on Netflix in 2013 and is the story of BoJack Horseman, the star of the hit television show "Horsin' Around" in the '80s and '90s. The show features anthropomorphic animals voiced by Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie and Paul F. Thompkins. The series tackles issues such as drug abuse, mental health, self-destructive behaviour in a realistic manner. The sixth and final season of BoJack Horseman will appear on October 25 on Netflix.

2. Rick and Morty (2013-Present)

Rick and Morty is another animated tv show that commands a loyal fan base among adult viewers. The show was created in 2013 and follows the misadventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his well-meaning grandson Morty Smith. The two split their time between their domestic duties and interdimensional adventures. The first three seasons of Rick and Morty are available for streaming on Netflix. The fourth season is due to arrive on November 10. 

3. Archer (2009-Present)

Archer is one of the most popular animated TV shows among adult viewers. It first appeared in 2009. The story is about the exploits of the title character, a dysfunctional and irreverent spy agent and his relationship with seven of his colleagues, including his dominating mother. The premise of the show has consistently evolved over the course of the seasons, with things such as standalone arcs and distinct humour. All 10 seasons of the show are available for streaming on Netflix.
