2. Koena received criticism after she featured in the movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Koena starred in a song with Fardeen Khan that did not go down well with some of her fans. The song, titled Jal Jal Ke Dhuan, had certain moves that were reported to be 'vulgar' by the audience. Koena was questioned about the same by the media reporters, which escalated too many rumours about her.
3. Reports suggest that Koena Mitra underwent plastic surgery in the year 2012. According to the reports, Koena's plastic surgery was a disaster and also that the doctors had given up on her. The reports further add that Koena's nose bones started to swell and it took her another 4 surgeries to mend the damage. Koena was invited for the launch of a cosmetic clinic where the media reporters poured questions on her about the topic. She said that she would not promote plastic surgery.

4. Koena was on a six-month jail term over an issue of a cheque-bounce case. The case was registered by model Poonam Sethi in 2013.
