Look no further as the first look of Anupam Kher's international project 'New Amsterdam' is here. Adding yet another feather to his cap, Anupam is seen donning the role of a neurosurgeon in the series that is touted to be a medical drama and also stars Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims and Tyler Labine.
The veteran actor took off to New York earlier this year to shoot for the show which premiers on September 25 on NBC. Inspired by the Bellevue hospital in the States, the series follows Dr Max Goodwin played by Eggold - the newest medical director who sets out against the bureaucracy to provide extraordinary care to the patients.
Anupam, will be seen essaying the role of Dr Vijay Kapoor, a neurologist, in the show. 'New Amsterdam' is anticipated as the next big thing in international television. Kher, in a statement previously, expressed his excitement on being a part of this show.
"NBC's 'New Amsterdam' is anticipated as the next big thing in international television. I'm glad that the medical drama has been selected among other shows of NBC for this upcoming season. It's quite an interesting show and the role is challenging enough to push the envelope as an actor," the actor said. He also bagged the BAFTA nomination for 'The Boy With A Topknot' and will also be seen in BBC's 'Mrs Wilson'.
Directed by Kate Dennis and produced by David Schulner, Peter Hortan and Universal television, 'New Amsterdam' is set to hit the screens soon.
