Writer George RR Martin, who has penned all the novels the series is based on, has some great news for his fans. He has now promised that he will finish his book 'Winds of Winter', which he had been struggling to do for close to seven years. His inability to finish the book is rather infamous on the internet. The enraged fans have complained a lot over the years and have even made a meme on it called, "Finish the book, George". Well, now they can all rest easy and prepare for an epic adventure.

Martin has also confirmed that he will also begin working on the next installment of the franchise which is titled as 'Dream of Spring'. With the final season of GOT to be wrapped up next year and a spinoff in the works, there will be plenty of material now for fans to enjoy in both book and televised form.

The author also thanked the people who stood by him in his difficult times. He revealed how he was angry with himself for not finishing the novel years ago. George also disclosed how there were times when he would slam his head against the keyboard, trying to find the inspiration to finish. However, it seems that everything ends up well in the end.

Earlier on, he had also dropped a hint about the ending of GOT and had simply called it bittersweet. This had led many fans to speculate that the series will end with the deaths of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, but their children would survive. Another theory postulates that Jon will take the place of the Night King, hence bringing peace once again to Westeros. It remains to be seen whether any of these things come true. But knowing the show's history for bloody surprises, we can expect something really shocking for sure.
