Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor reacted to stepmother Sridevi's death on Karan Johar's famous chat show 'Koffee With Karan' Season 6. The actor graced the couch with half-sister Janhvi Kapoor on Sunday, November 25, and recalled the time when the legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi was announced dead earlier this year. As Karan asked Arjun if he was affected by the incident, the actor said that it took a toll on him and all he knew at that moment was that he needed to be a good son to his father.

"At the end of the day, a moment changes everything. I have been through it and I would not wish it even for my worst enemy. Whatever I and Anshula have done or the way we have reacted was an impulse that came out of pure honesty as we related to the time when we would have needed somebody. At that time it seemed from the fact that I had to be a good son to my father." Arjun said.

"If my mother would have been alive, then the first thing she would have asked me to do is just go and be there and don't hold any grudges because life is too short," he added.

The actor further stated that he took a little time to decide what to do next and called his sister Anshula after receiving the news of Sridevi 's sudden demise.

"It took me some time to go ask Anshula, that I feel that it is a right thing because the end of the day I need her consent. I was going to be able to do this, only if  I had her by my side. I remember calling her at around 2-3 at night, and I remember that the first thing she asked was, where are the girls? And at that point, I knew that I will be there for Janhvi and Khushi, to the best of my capacity and as long as I can be." the 'Namaste England' actor said.

"It wasn't much about I'll be a brother or something, but I just wanted to be there because they won't obviously know what is hitting them."  he further stated.

Karan Johar continued to say how both Arjun and Janhvi lost their mothers right before their Bollywood debut, to which Arjun replied saying, "It was just like I was living it all again."

Talking about the importance of Janhvi's Bollywood debut, the actor mentioned how she had the pressure of living up to people's expectations as she had Sridevi's legacy to carry forward.

"Not much people expected from me because I was not a star kid, my father was a producer. But her mother is a legend who defined the profession." Arjun stated.

This was Janhvi's first appearance on the show unlike Arjun, who has appeared on previous seasons. Earlier, Karan Johar has hosted several other stars including father-daughter duo Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, among other pairs.
