Indian Idol 10 judges donated Rs 1,00,000 each to musician Keshav Lal

Indian Idol 10 judges singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and singer Neha Kakkar have donated Rs 1, 00,000 each to musician Keshav Lal. The musician has been playing the harmonium on the footpath of Pune for over 30 years. 

Musician Keshav Lal was invited on the sets of the singing reality show 'Indian Idol 10', where the show's contestants and judges paid him a memorable tribute. His wife Soni bai too accompanied him on the show. The musician performed the song 'Awaara Hoon' on his harmonium. 

Keshav Lal who was once at the peak of success lost all his material possessions over the years. The musician revealed that only music mattered to him and also said that it is more important to stay loyal to one's passion. 

Keshav Lal has worked with award-winning filmmaker V Shantaram (who was also an actor and producer). He has also worked with National-award-winning composer Kalyanji-Anandji of  "Khaike Paan Banaraswala' (Don), 'Karle Pyar Karle Aankhen Char' (Sacha Jhoota) fame. 

The judges on the show-Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar then went ahead and announced a donation amount of Rs 100,000 each.

In a statement made to a news agency, Vishal Dadlani said that it was their privilege to witness Keshav Lal ji on the show. He also added that it is wonderful to see a man so faithful to music throughout his life and is an inspiration to all. Dadlani also said that Keshav Lalji taught them that one should never leave their passion, come what may. He urged his friends and people from the industry to try their best and help Keshav Lalji in the best possible way they all can.

The 10th season of Indian Idol came on air from July 7. The show is hosted by Manish Paul and judged by Vishal Dadlani, Anu Malik and Neha Kakkar. The first season of the show was aired in 2004-2005 and Abhijeet Sawant was titled as the first Indian Idol. Several contestants who did not win the coveted title also went on to become Bollywood playback singers.
