The SC order was in response to Sreesanth’s plea challenging the Kerala High Court’s decision to restore the life ban on him.

While setting aside the BCCI disciplinary committee's order of life ban on Sreesanth, the bench had directed the cricket board to decide on a fresh quantum of punishment for the Kerala pacer, saying it had not considered all circumstances and also added that he will be given the opportunity to be heard by the committee.

The court also said that its decision had no bearing on the pending proceedings in the Delhi High Court, where Delhi Police has challenged a trial court’s order absolving all those accused in the spot-fixing case.
