Though the paparazzi has been after Sara Ali Khan for the past few months ever since she turned an actor, the debutante's true test of being a celebrity has started only recently as she starts promotions for her debut ‘Kedarnath.’ While some questions on experiences regarding the movie or her co-star are usually easy, it’s always the personal questions that can get a bit tricky for the celebrities in media interactions.
However, the youngster didn't show signs of any discomfort at the trailer launch of ‘Kedarnath’, while talking about her equation with stepmother Kareena Kapoor Khan, and had praised the senior actor. With her second film ‘Simmba’ producer Karan Johar’s show ‘Koffee with Karan’ being known for some of the uncomfortable questions faced by the celebrities, Sara had a tough one to answer again when she was asked about Kareena on the show, appearing with her father Saif Ali Khan.
The youngster was confident in her reply again, revealing how there was never any problem for her to understand the dynamics. She revealed how Kareena said her mother Amrita Singh is a great mother to her and that she wants her to be friends with Sara. The 'Simmba' star also shared how Saif never made it uncomfortable for her by introducing Kareena to her as her ‘second mother’.
“Everyone has been clear about their dynamics with me. It has never been confusing. Kareena herself was saying and still says that ‘look you have a mother and a great one and what I want is for us to be able to be friends.’ My father also never said ‘this is your second mother’ or made it any way uncomfortable."
On confusion regarding how to address Kareena, Sara said terms like ‘Çhoti Ma’ and ‘Kareena aunty’ did come across her mind, but Saif thought it was a bad idea, "I think Kareena would probably have a nervous breakdown if I was gonna call her, 'Choti Ma'. She would be like, 'No!' I used to be like, 'What should I call her? Kareena, Kareena aunty. My father's like 'You don't want to call her aunty. So you can call her 'K' or 'Kareena'. "
About her parents’ separation and how their equation has evolved over the years, she said, "I don't think there was any confusion about what equation, you know. I also feel that somewhere down the line, it's very important to respect what other people want. I see my father and mother today and they are much happier than I think they would have been together. I have now two comfortable homes as opposed to one uncomfortable home." Sara added, "Mom is happy, Abba is happy and Kareena is happy. We all are happy!"
Sara's 'Kedarnath' also starring Sushant Singh Rajput, hits the theatres on 7 December.
