The internet has a plethora of shows with novel concepts, but here's what grabbed our attention. We are referring to Netflix's Lust Stories that premiered on Friday and ALTBalaji's Gandii Baat that was streamed in the first week of May 2018. These two recently launched web series meander around similar topics. They tell the tale of love, lust, betrayal and all the taboos revolving around it wrapped in four stories.

Gandii Baat has compiled tales from the rural interiors of the nation the series tells stories forbidden and hidden from the society. The show also justifies the feel and is setting apt for the audience to relate to. Lust Stories is based and set in the bustling metros, the stories are also captured from the busy city life that weaves lustful tales. And the compilation of stories is a mix of emotions and rich in content. 

Here are a few similarities between Lust Stories and Gandii Baat:

⦁    ALTBalaji tells progressive stories from the remote interiors of India, while Lust Stories' premise is around the bustling cities of urban India.

⦁    The Netflix creation is touted to be an anthology film by renowned filmmakers, whereas Gandii Baat is an anthology based digital show that touches upon similar taboo issues.

⦁    Lust Stories flaunts an ensemble cast of popular Bollywood names like Bhumi Pednekar, Radhika Apte, and Manisha Koirala. Gandii Baat features notable television and theatre actors like Neetha Shetty, Narayani Shastri, and Rajesh Tripathi.

⦁    Lust Stories is about four stories and multiple climaxes, while Gandii Baat’s treatment is rustic, raw and edgy packed in four stories.  

⦁    Lust Stories is about women and their quest to assert their identity, on the other hand, Gandii Baat is about women from the villages their deep desires and fantasies.

The Lust Stories are directed by eminent filmmakers viz. Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap starring Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, Bhoopalam, Neil Bhoopalam, Jaideep Ahlawat and Akash Thosar. 

Gandii Baat is helmed by Sachin Mohite and stars television actors Narayani Shastri, Anant Joshi, Neetha Shetty, Rohit Choudhary, Rajesh Tripathi, Deepika Khanna, Mrinalini Tyagi among others.
