Inspired from the west, the #MeToo campaign in India has sure gained heat with several women gathering the courage to point out sexual predators. The latest to open up is the producer of the popular 90s show, Vinta Nanda. In an elaborate Facebook post, she narrated the details of the horrific incident that happened with her back in the 90s. She also recounted the details, of when the Alok Nath misbehaved with the lead actress of the show. Vinta Nanda accused actor Alok Nath of alleged rape and brutality.
In an interview with ABP, the veteran actor Alok Nath stated that in a current situation, if a woman accuses a man of rape, no one will consider listening to the man's version of the story, and so it is useless to react. He further added that he has known her for a very long time and that he would not like to comment about the matter. Saying that he is coming in terms with the whole thing, he stated that Vinta Nanda has a right to put forward her thoughts, but given the whole situation, he would comment about it later.
When asked about Vinta Nanda's rape allegations on him, he stated that he is neither agreeing nor denying it. He further adds that he is sure that rape must have happened, but someone else would have done it and not him.
Reportedly, Alok Nath claimed that he is not affected by what people will say after being accused of sexual violation and further went on to say that he is also responsible for Vinta Nanda's success.
Earlier, after the accusations of rape on Alok Nath, CINTAA decided to send a show cause notice to the actor. The controversy broke out after the producer of the popular 90s show, Vinta Nanda. Talking about the perpetrator she wrote, "His wife was my best friend. We were in and out of each other's homes, we belonged to the same group of friends, most of us from theatre." She further said, "He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst." Back then, Nanda was the producer and writer of the "No 1 show on TV called Tara'. She stated that "he was after my lead girl. She was not interested in him."
After the lead actress complained they planned to let him go, after one final shot. She stated that on the day of the last shot, he came in drunk and misbehaved with the lead actress. He was removed from the show. However, he returned to the show using his contacts.

Although, Vinta did not reveal the name of the person, but wrote, "Irony is that the man, the predator in question here is the actor par excellence who is known as the most #Sanskaari (Cultured) person in the film and television industry."
