Kevin Spacey found himself neck deep in controversy after Anthony Rapp accused him of trying to seduce the actor in 1986 when Rapp was 14. Despite the fact that Spacey claimed to have no memory of his alleged misconduct, he publicly apologised for the same. Following the allegations against Spacey, the makers of ‘House of Cards’ sacked him from the show. Fans were keen to know the fate of his character Frank Underwood after Kevin Spacey was shown the door and the recently released trailer of the sixth and final season of the Netflix series has revealed it all.
The trailer of the political thriller ‘House of Cards’ season 6 shows Claire Underwood played by Robin Wright as the new president who is interestingly standing at the grave of her deceased husband Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey). Claire intensely mouths the dialogue, “I'll tell you this though, Francis. When they bury me, it won't be in my backyard. And when they pay their respects, they'll have to wait in line.”
The camera then pans from her father-in-law Calvin T. Underwood’s gravestone to reveal that of Frank Underwood. The gravestone states that Spacey’s character passed away in the year 2017. It would be interesting to see how the audience accepts the new season of the show as it returns on November 2 sans Kevin Spacey.

As per reports, when Netflix severed their ties with Kevin Spacey in early November last year, the season was almost entirely written. The production of the show was reportedly halted until earlier this year in order to rework the script and write out Spacey’s character. While talking about the accusation against her former co-star, Robin Wright had earlier said that the cast and crew of the show were "surprised, of course, and ultimately saddened" about the actor. The final season of the show which was earlier supposed to comprise 13 episodes will now feature only 8. ‘House of Cards’ also stars newcomer Cody Fern and returning stars Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, and Boris McGiver.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, it was announced that Kevin Spacey will not face prosecution over the accusation made by Anthony Rapp. As per reports, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said that the incident in question was outside California's statute of limitations.
