Richard Madden Reveals He Wasn't Paid At Par With Other 'Game Of Thrones' Actors

Richard Madden’s splendid portrayal is still missed by his fans across the world. However, seems like the actor did not get his due in the show which is known to be produced on a colossal budget.

Often regarded as one of the best shows in Television history with larger than life sets, elaborate costumes, and unexpected twists and turns, fans wait with baited breath for the eighth and final season of the much loved ‘Game of Thrones’. Among other aspects, the show is famous for killing off major characters much to the dismay of its loyal fans. One such character was that of Robb Stark played by Richard Madden. The ‘King in the North’ met a brutal end during a wedding feast as House Lannister and House Frey plotted the gruesome murders of the Starks’ oldest son, his wife Talisa Stark and his mother Catelyn Stark with the tunes of 'Rains of Castamere' playing eerily in the background.

The extermination of three members of the Stark family is still regarded as one of the most cold-blooded murders in the history of the show. Robb Stark’s character, in particular, was immensely popular among the audience and Richard Madden’s splendid portrayal is still missed by his fans world over.

However, seems like the actor did not get his due in the show which is known to be produced on a colossal budget.

As per reports, Richard Madden recently revealed that his salary wasn't at par with other ‘Game of Thrones’ actors.

The actor, who bagged the role of Robb Stark at the age of 22 years, reportedly said that since he was relatively new to acting, he wasn’t paid much. Madden stated that while people believe that he is loaded because of his work in ‘Game of Thrones’, but that is not true and he still has to take the bus because he cannot afford a cab. The actor also addressed the issue of gender disparity and said that it needs to be dealt with.

Meanwhile, Richard Madden, who starred in the film ‘Cindrella’, will next be seen in the BBC series titled ‘Bodyguard’. While the final season of 'Game of Thrones' will reportedly comprise six episodes, unlike the previous seasons, barring the seventh season, which aired 10 episodes each. ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8, will air in 2019 and according to reports, each episode will be an hour long.
