After being ‘banned’ by the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), there’s more trouble for Navjot Singh Sidhu following his comments on the Pulwama terror attack. The film association’s mother body Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) has now demanded the cricketer-turned-politician be banned from Film City due to the possibility of a ‘law and order’ situation.

The Film City, situated in Mumbai, is the busiest location for shoots of the Entertainment industry and hosts the studio at which the ‘Kapil Sharma Show’, where Sidhu served as a judge.

Following reports of him being sacked over his statements, the FWICE in a letter to the  Film City Managing Director, wrote that they have called for a ban on Sidhu “for his inhuman and controversial comments on the terrorist attack by the militants of Pakistan and requested Sony Entertainment Channel to sack him from their show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. “Upon the request of the FWICE, Sony channel has immediately kicked him from their show,” it stated.

“We now appeal you for not allowing Shri Navjyot Singh Sidhu to enter the sacred land of Filmcity (sic)” the letter continued.

The association also stated that none of their members shall work on the projects where Sidhu is associated.

“There may be a situation of Law and Order arising if he is allowed to enter the Film City for any shoot. Our members are outraged and may take law in their own hands against Shri Navjyot Singh Sidhu who is not bothered about the sentiments of the Nation and continues to support Pakistan with his controversial comments. We seek your support and request you to bar him from entering the Film City, (sic)” the letter stated.

In the wake of the terror attack where 40 soldiers of the CRPF were martyred, Sidhu, absolving Pakistan of the attack, stated, "I am saddened. The bigger point is that it is a cowardly act. Terrorists have no religion, nation, and caste. There is no doubt that a diamond cuts a diamond, a fire kills a fire and anti-dote of poison is poison. However, in places where this kind of situation occurs or war takes place, there is always a parallel dialogue. There should be a permanent solution to this".
