After the climactic and fiery events of the penultimate episode of the eighth season of Game of Thrones, the preview for the series finale is now out.

The episode begins with what looks like Jon Snow and a taller person with blonde hair (surely not Brienne) walking through the burnt and smoking ruins of King's Landing which had until recently been a teeming capital city with at least a million people in it including Queen Cersei.

Tyrion also makes his way inside, and looks up to the cracked remains of the Red Keep. He's not the only one. Arya Stark, her face as inscrutable as it was towards most of the recent battle also arrives in a square where the Dothraki have assembled. Ahead of her, the Unsillied are assembled, standing on an ash-covered ground. More ash rains down as Tyrion approaches, even as the Khalasar raises its arrakhs in salute of their Khaleesi - Daenerys Stormborn, the Mother of Dragons - who appears before her troops.

Not a word is said in the promo, with two stills making clear that this is the final episode and teasing an Iron Throne with the face of a Dragon - Drogon to be specific.

The final episode, the 73rd in the series that comes 9 years after it all began, will be out next Monday (IST).
