Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 2: Vicky, Triptii, Ammy Starrer Mints ₹19.17 Crore

Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk starrer Bad Newz had an overall 26.81 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday with the maximum reported in Chennai.

Vicky Kaushal had the biggest opening with Bad Newz as the movie opened at ₹8.62 crore on Friday, July 19. Co-starring Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the lead roles, the movie is busy garnering positive reviews from critics and audiences. After having a good start, the movie was expected to see an upward trend over the weekend.

Helmed by Anand Tiwari, the comedy-drama witnessed over 22.39 per cent increase in the daily collection on Saturday. The movie has roughly earned ₹10.55 crore, per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Adding the two-day collection, the total stands at ₹19.17 crore. Bad Newz had an overall 26.81 per cent Hindi occupancy on the second day with the maximum reported in Chennai (58.75 per cent).

Bad Newz was expected to earn a little higher than on Saturday, but if the movie continues to see an upward trend by the end of this week it might collect ₹50 crore. If it happens so then it will prove Vicky is a bankable actor. His next movie is Chhaava which might add a star to his building star image.

What else do we know about Bad Newz?

Produced by  Amazon Prime, Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, the film is inspired by true events. It revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twins are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers.

Earlier, during the trailer launch, Ammy opened up about his experience working with Vicky and Triptii. He said, "Working with Vicky and Triptii has been a great experience. I am sure our hilarious 'Kalesh' on-screen will be loved by the audience. I cannot wait for everyone to experience the light-hearted comedy."
