Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta starred in Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005). Over the years, the film has been in the news for the actors' chemistry in it, especially in the title song in which they shared several intimate scenes. However, in a recent interview, Tanushree spoke in detail about how she has been perceived in the industry because of her role in the film and even called her chemistry with Emraan "brother-sister" like. Now, Emraan has reacted to Tanushree's comments in his latest media interaction.
Emraan and Tanushree have shared the screen space in Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets (2005) and Good Boy, Bad Boy (2007). In an old interview, the actress had looked back at the time she shot for the title song with Emraan in Aashiq Banaya Aapne and called her kiss scene with the Tiger 3 actor as "awkward".
“The biggest and top-most actresses have done kissing, lovemaking scenes. Unko koi kuch nehi bolta. Mujhse sabko dikkat ho jati hai. Main short-skirt pehenu ya koi aisa scene kar du. Acting hai, bhai. Usmein mera aur Emraan ka kuch personal tha nehi. Mine and Emraan’s chemistry is like brother-sister. Literally,” Tanushree told Filmygyan while talking about her and Emraan's chemistry.
Discussing his chemistry with Tanushree in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Emraan said, "Did you hear Tanushree's quote three weeks ago? I don't know if it was a verbatim quote or what. She said that it was like ‘brotherly’. I said, ‘What did the director tell her and what did he tell me?’ I had another narrative going on in my head and she had another narrative going in her head. I was never told the story about incest. I don't know what she was thinking but fine.”
Aashiq Banaya Aapne became popular for its hit tracks, composed by Himesh Reshammiya. It also stars Sonu Sood and is directed by Aditya Datt.
