Rajeev Khandelwal rose to fame with the popular TV show, Kahiin To Hoga (2003-2005). He went on to give many memorable performances not just in TV, but also in Bollywood movies such as Aamir, Shaitan, Table and more. Owing to his performance, the actor is now ruling the Web series world with shows such as Showtime and Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala. In a recent interview, the actor opined on the ban on Pakistani actors in India.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rajeev slammed the ban on Pakistani artists. He opined that it is all "politics" and it is not right to do so. He said, "Logo ko ban karne waale kaun hote hain politicians. Humari politics dictate karti hai kuchh cheezo ko. Jaha pe pyaar badh sakta hai, uss pyaar ko bhi aap badhne nahi de rahe, for whatever reasons."
The actor added that he doesn't understand this and feels that it would be wrong on his part to comment on this as he doesn't understand it. "Where there is genuine peace and harmony, there too political parties give it a Hindu-Muslim angle. That is not right. It's not that the Pakistani government is sending the artists as agents. I have only seen a lot of love coming," he concluded.
Months ago in April, Mumtaz visited Pakistan where he met his old friend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali and popular Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. She shared a series of photos from her visit, which created a heavy buzz on the internet. During an interview with an entertainment portal, when she was asked about her visit to Pakistan she urged that Pakistani artists should be allowed to come and work here. She asked them to allow her to work in Bollywood.
Ever since the Uri attack in 2016, there has been an unofficial blanket ban on Pakistani artists performing in India. Last year, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition, aiming to ban Pakistani artists from performing or working in India in 2023.
