Singham Again: The trailer of the Rohit Shetty directorial was released on October 7 and received mixed reviews. While most fans expressed anticipation for the movie, a section of social media raised objections to Deepika Padukone as Shakti Shetty in the film. The actress is being trolled for her accent and diction in the movie wherein she seemingly plays a cop hailing from South India. Amid this, the actress has shared about the criticism she faced for her pronunciation for her debut movie Om Shanti Om.

Deepika Padukone opens up about dealing with ‘negativity' surrounding her accent 

Deepika Padukone recently shared her candid views about dealing with ‘negativity’ as a part of the Live Love Laugh lecture series. She spoke about how a particular review regarding her diction in Om Shanti Om bothered her following the release of her debut film. This comes amid her being trolled for acting in Singham Again.

Deepika Padukone shared, “When my debut movie Om Shanti Om released, there were quite a few bad reviews, but I specifically remember this one bad review which pushed me to work on myself. It spoke about my accent, my diction, my talent and my capabilities. Negativity is sometimes a good thing, it’s what you make of it. The larger picture is what do you do with that criticism, how do you look at it positively."

Deepika Padukone stresses the importance of dealing with criticism positively 

In the same conversation, the new other Deepika stressed the importance of not taking criticism too seriously. The actress shared, "It's absolutely normal and human to feel pain, anger, and some of these extreme emotions and learning from that. The larger picture is how do you deal with that criticism and how do you use it positively and work on yourself. You will have to put in the work and be patient."

Deepika has taken a break from work to focus on her personal life following the birth of her daughter on September 8. She and Ranveer Singh took to their social media accounts to make a joint announcement of the news.
