Taapsee Pannu was among the few celebrities who remained missing from the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. After months of pre-wedding festivities, the couple hosted a three-day wedding bash from July 12 to July 14 in Mumbai. The bigwigs from the world of entertainment, politics, sports and business attended the opulent celebrations. However, Taapsee skipped the festivities and in an old interview shared her intent behind doing the same.
It seems like Taapsee had decided well in advance that she would not be attending the wedding festivities hosted by the Ambanis. An old interview of the Pink fame actress doing rounds on social media shows her confirming her absence from the same. A clip of her talking about it has now been shared on Reddit.
Asked if she would attend the wedding, Taapsee shared in the interview, “I don't know them personally. I feel weddings are very personal. I am sure there are a lot of friends of theirs but I prefer to go to a marriage where at least there is some kind of communication between the family and the guest.” For the unversed, Taapsee herself got married in a hush-hush ceremony in March earlier this year. The actress has previously revealed that she liked her wedding to be an intimate affair with only friends and family in attendance. She is yet to share the official photos from the ceremony.
While Taapsee gave the event a miss, the whos who of Bollywood made it to the wedding celebrations of the Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son. The groom's gang made a special entry at the venue flaunting their customised outfits. Actor Arjun Kapoor was spotted wearing a kurta with 'mere yaar ki shadi hai' written on it. Ananya Panday, Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor dazzled in vibrant lehengas flaunting 'Anant's brigade' message inscribed on the back of their ensembles. WWE champion and actor John Cena surprised everyone with his desi look. The professional wrestler and actor Cena happily posed for shutterbugs in a powder blue bandhgala suit.
The wedding ceremony was followed by Shubh Aashirwad'on July 13 and culminated with the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception on July 14, promising three days of revelry and jubilation for the Ambani and Merchant families.
