Arshad Warsi has been the subject of criticism after he disparaged Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD, saying he “didn't like it at all” and added that "Prabhas looked like a joker in it". The Munna Bhai actor's remarks did not go down well with fans of Prabhas, who trolled him heavily on social media. Apart from this, his comments also stoked a Bollywood vs South debate, with netizens sharing their views on the raging discussion.

Now, an old interview of Arshad has resurfaced on social media in which he talked about "mindless" South films that don't require brains to be enjoyed.

Arshad's views on South films

Talking about action films made in the South, the Asur actor said while referring to the Hindi dubbed version of KGF, "All those who work for me in my house (servants), they all watch dubbed South films. It is highly entertaining. Rajinikanth who is a big star there, there must be a reason behind it. Yes, they are highly entertaining. You don't need to invest too much of your mind in these movies. You are watching them, cars are flying, people are flying, cigarette is flying. You can watch them, eat popcorn and go home."

Nag Ashwin seemingly ends Arshad vs Prabhas controversy

After Arshad's "joker" comment on Prabhas went viral on social media, the former had to face a lot of criticism from Tollywood celebs. Producer Dil Raju, director Ajay Bhupathi, actor Nani, Vinshu Manchu, Sudheer Babu and Siddhu Jonnalagadda slammed Arshad for his remarks.

However, ending the controversy, Nag Ashwin wrote on X, "No more north-south or Bolly vs Tolly...eyes on the bigger picture.. United Indian Film Industry...Arshad saab should have chosen his words better...but it's ok...sending Buji toys for his kids." Nag Ashwin added that he will strive to work hard so that Prabhas' character stands out in K2.
