Ratan Tata, Tata Group’s chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist, died at a Mumbai hospital late on Wednesday night., October 9. He was 86 when he breathed his last at 11.30 pm at Breach Candy Hospital. Soon after the news broke, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman penned a heartfelt tribute on his social media handle remembering the “extraordinary” human.

India has lost a true son and champion: AR Rahman in Ratan Tata's demise

Music composer AR Rahman took to his X handle and shared that India has lost a “true son” and a “champion”. He wrote, "Some icons are living textbooks, teaching us about leadership, success, and legacy. Extraordinary yet human and approachable, they inspire and guide us. India has lost a true son and champion. Rest in peace, Ratan ji."

Other celebs mourn Ratan Tata's death

Ajay Devgn took to his X handle and wrote, “The world mourns the loss of a visionary. Ratan Tata's legacy will forever inspire generations. His contributions to India and beyond are immeasurable. We are deeply grateful. Rest in peace, Sir.”

Randeep Hooda , on the other hand, described Ratan Tata as “India’s most valuable man, not necessarily for his vast wealth, but for his values". He added, “Largest being Integrity !! Never a show off but always the star The life #RatanTata ji led will  always be an inspiration.”

Ratan Tata was admitted to the hospital for the past few days.
