Katrina Kaif is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Merry Christmas. In the film, she was seen alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Recently, the actress opened up about her early days and the amusing anecdotes that marked her entry into the world of advertising.

Katrina Kaif talks about her modelling days

In an interview with Mashable, Katrina Kaif said that her journey began with aspirations of becoming a successful model in Bombay. She shared that during her formative years, she looked up to iconic figures in the industry, citing Madhu Sapre, Lakshmi Menon, and Malaika Arora as her role models. The actress added that these supermodels of that era fueled her ambition to carve her niche in the modelling world.

Katrina reminisced about the days when she meticulously compiled a list of advertising agencies. Undeterred by the challenges, she embarked on a journey across the city, visiting each agency one by one. During her early foray into the modelling scene, Katrina humorously recalls her proficiency in landing "fake sabun (soap) ads." She further shared that her ability to convincingly portray various roles in soap commercials became a hallmark of her early career

Katrina Kaif opened up about working with Thalapathy Vijay for her first advertisement.  The ad, promoting a soft drink, cast her as a ballerina, despite her confessed lack of dancing skills.

She said, "The first ad that I did was with Vijay sir. It was an ad for a soft drink and I was playing a ballerina and I could not dance to save my life, and my friend who later saw the ad told me, ‘You were the world’s clumsiest ballerina in that ad."

Katrina Kaif shared that her approach to work is that she always believes that she has to give more and she is constantly cross-checking herself that whatever she is doing is excellent. Katrina made her acting debut in 2005 with the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Sarkar.

Having an 18-year-long journey in Hindi cinema have there been moments, where the actress felt that she could have given something more? "I think my approach to my work is that I always believe that I have to give more. I always believe that I'm not giving enough in every moment. And I'm always checking and cross-checking myself that am I doing everything I can to be excellent, to be the best that I can be. You know, for me, my belief system is really, am I better than I was yesterday?” Katrina told IANS.
