Anil Kapoor,  who is basking in the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, also starring Ranbir Kapoor, is all set to star in the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter. While Anil is known for his acting and fitness, did you know the actor has also turned singer for one of his films? The actor had lent his voice for the title track of his 1986 film Chameli Ki Shaadi, which also featured Amrita Singh in the lead role.

When Anil Kapoor turned singer for the film Chameli Ki Shaadi

Anil Kapoor sang the title track of the 1986 film Chameli Ki Shaadi directed by Basu Chatterjee. It featured Amrita Singh and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, which is one of the classics of its time. The song is infused with a comedic vibe which narrates the love story of the lead characters, Chameli and Charandas by adding humour. The actor has also contributed to songs in the films Tashan, AK vs AK and Shootout At Wadala among others.

Chameli Ki Shaadi (1986), directed by Basu Chatterjee, is a satire on  the caste system in India. The 2hr 16 minutes long film is currently rated 7.5 out of 10 on IMDb. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 90 lakh and earned around Rs 2 crore worldwide. It was a semi hit, according to KS Box office.

As the year will be ending in a few hours, Anil Kapoor also shared his highlights of the year on social media platforms. In the Instagram reel, Anil Kapoor shared snapshots from behind the scenes from the sets of Night Manager, Fighter and Animal. He also added frames of him recreating his iconic Mr India look. From attending events to representing his film Thank You For Coming at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Anil Kapoor also shared some unseen pictures of how he spent his free time with his family and friends. He also shared some pictures from his vacations which he took in 2023. The places include Paris, Egypt and Dubai. He penned a caption for the post, “A wrap On 2023!”
