The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola shared a message of support for Joker: Folie à Deux and director Todd Phillips. Francis shared the poster and wrote in the caption, “Todd Phillips films always amaze me and I enjoy them thoroughly. Ever since the wonderful “The Hangover’ he’s always one step ahead of the audience never doing what they expect. Congratulations to Joker: Folie a Deux.!”

He further wrote, “I am also honoured that the film DP, Lawrence Sher, mentioned that the film is visually inspired by One From the Heart”.

As soon as Joker 2 released globally, the film was met with criticism and social media users took to X to share their candid feelings about the film. One user wrote, “Me after watching Joker 2. They just wanted Lady Gaga to sing. The film had no plot, just vibes. I want my 3 hours back”. Another user wrote, “is a shallow mess. It may be beautifully shot with great performances from both Gaga & Phoenix but it’s all wasted on a story actively wanting to put off fans of the Joker. Joker: Folie a Deux earned around ₹1.52 crore India net on its fourth day for all languages, taking its total collection to ₹9.3 crore, as per Sacnilk. The Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga starrer had an overall 11.20% English occupancy on Saturday.
