Sunday is here and so is our list of movies that will be releasing this week in the theatres. Two highly anticipated movies are slated to hit the theatres - The Greatest Of All Times and Emergency. Apart from it, you can also watch a horror flick Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The first week of September promises a range of movies in various genres in theatres.
The Greatest Of All Time
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film stars Vijay in dual roles, alongside Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer and Jayaram. The sci-fi actioner follows Gandhi, the former leader of a special anti-terrorist squad, who reconciles with his squad members to address the problems, which were stemmed from their previous actions. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on September 5.
Emergency
Kangana Ranaut starrer chronicles the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the darkest phase of history, the Indian Emergency. The movie also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The trailer of the movie has created an uproar among the Sikh community, alleging that the movie is showing them in the wrong light. As the movie is yet to receive the CBFC certificate, it is uncertain if it'' release on September 6.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Fantasy comedy horror stars serve as a sequel to Beetlejuice (1988). It stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara reprising their roles alongside new cast members Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe. the movie opens 36 years after the events of Beetlejuice, the Deetz family returns home to Winter River after Charles Deetz's unexpected death. Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened, releasing Betelgeuse. It will release on September 6.
The Front Room
Helmed by the Eggers Brothers, the psychological horror thriller follows a young, newly pregnant couple who are forced to take responsibility for an estranged stepmother. The film is based on the 2016 short story of the same name by Susan Hill, and stars Brandy, Kathryn Hunter, Andrew Burnap, and Neal Huff. It will hit the theatres on September 6.
Vallan
It is an investigative thriller, directed by Mani Seiyon and stars Sundar C, Tanya Hope and Jayakumar in the lead roles. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on September 6
