Kanguva release is around the corner and the promotions are expected to pick up pace. The trailer has raised anticipation surrounding the Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani starrer and all eyes are now on how the team markets the film. A recent comment of the film's producer Gnanavel Raja went viral where he commented about a "big film with a huge cast" that failed to perform at the box office.

Many thought that Raja was referring to Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan, but he has now clarified his comments.

Kanguva producer clarifies comments about non-performer at the box office

Kanguva and Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan was supposed to have a clash at the box office on October 10 but Suriya confirmed backing out of a clash, saying "Thalaivar's film arrives on Dussehra." The Jai Bhim star's gesture won the hearts of many Kollywood fans. Kanguva is now set to release on November 14.

Many are upset about how the promotions are shaping up. A fan asked Gnanavel Raja why the team hasn’t given a formal announcement about Kanguva’s cast and crew. He replied, "Recently, a big film was released with top stars in it. The team gave all the official announcements about the cast. But that didn’t help the movie a bit in getting opening day collections.” Many thought that the Kanguva producer indirectly took a dig at Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, which is not performing well at the box office despite a festive release.

Raja targets Akshay's Khel Khel Mein

In a recent interview, Gnanavel Raja gave clarity about his words. He said, “I was actually referring to a Hindi film named Khel Khel Mein. It didn’t perform well despite having big stars. No one asked me what I really meant. They are framing their own theories.”

Even though Akshay-led ensemble did not perform well at the box office after releasing on Independence Day weekend, it is charting high up on Netflix.
