Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is in the news after Palak Sindhwani aka Sonu Bhide decided to exit from the sitcom after 5 years. The makers filed a case of ‘Breach of contract” against Palak. Following the case, she levelled allegations against the makers, including producer Asit Modi, for harassing and mentally torturing her.

Palak Sindhwani opens up about ‘breach of contract’ case

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Palak opened up about being accused of a ‘break of contract’ and said she had been accused of doing brand endorsements. However, she pointed out that other cast members endorsed the brands, but the makers called out only her. The actress shared that she didn’t receive a copy of the contract until September 12, 2024 (after five years of being in the show). She mentioned that makers didn’t have any valid reason to stop her owing to which they called out for endorsing the brands.

Palak Sindhwani reveals struggle to meet producer Asit Kumarr Modi

When asked if she had a chance to discuss the issue face-to-face with the producer, to this, Palak replied, that she texted Asit Modi as she was unwell. She wrote to Asit, “Sir, physically I am not well, mentally it is adding to my stress. Can you please make me meet someone from your team on an urgent basis?" She revealed that Asit didn’t pay attention to her message and told her, “No one can meet you before Wednesday (September 18).”

Palak tried to explain to Asit how difficult it was for her to work while suffering from a fever. However, Asit told her, “If someone is available, they will meet”.

Palak Sindhwani recounts suffering a panic attack

In the same conversation, she stated, “I shot for the show for 5-6 days with that anxiety. Only I know what I was going through. I couldn't accept what was happening." She was continuously getting calls from people asking her about violating the contract.

"I got a panic attack on the set. My brother had called me and the call was on speaker. I was shivering and my brother discovered that there was something wrong. My brother called the production head/company representative and asked him to rush to my room. He came and saw how I was holding my chair, sitting and shivering. He saw everything. He must have told Asit sir about my condition but still, there was no consideration," Palak recounted.

Asit Modi threatened Palak Sindhwani?

After experiencing “sleepless nights,” Palak shared, she texted Asit to resolve the misunderstanding about breach of contract. On September 18, she visited the producer and asked for clarification, it was then Asit who told her that every artist has a different contract. He also threatened to remove him from Instagram. "Tum itna mat uddo Instagram ke vajese se. Humare pass itni strong team hai ki hum raato raat udva sakte hai tumhara Instagram. (You don't jump because of Instagram. I have a strong team that can delete your Instagram in a night).

She added that after a discussion with Asit, a legal notice was sent to her house on September 20, mentioning the breach of contract. It was at this point, she decided to speak the truth and sought legal help.
