Devara Collection Day 8: Jr NTR Starrer's Biz Continues To Decline At Box Office In Second Weekend

Devara Collection Day 8: The actioner hit the big screens on September 27. The film features Jr NTR in a double role and marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Following a successful first week, the Koratala Siva movie has begun registering a dip at the box office.

Devara raked in a decent Rs 82.5 crore on its opening day. The film continued to draw audiences to houseful theatres after that. After a week of theatrical run, the Jr NTR starrer had amassed a total of Rs 215.6 crore.

On Day 8 of its theatrical run, the action movie minted Rs 6.25 crore, as per early estimates provided by Sacnilk. Devara was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. While the maximum business of the movie came from the Telugu version, it has performed well in Hindi as well. No significant Bollywood releases have continued the growth in Devara collections. The Janhvi Kapoor starrer has minted Rs 44 crore in the Hindi language alone, as per Sacnilk.

Devara marks the first JR NTR release after the massive success of SS Rajamouli's film RRR.  Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie is reportedly based on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The film is yet to break even from domestic collections.

A major part of Devara's budget consists of the cast's hefty compensation. Jr NTR, who plays a double role in the film, charged Rs 60 crore, as per reports.  Janhvi, who plays his love interest in the film and makes her Tollywood debut, was reportedly compensated by Rs 5 crore. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist in the movie and has reportedly been paid Rs 13 crore for the role.
